“When the Church sets itself to pray with the same seriousness and
strength of purpose that it has devoted to other forms of Christian
effort, it will see the Kingdom of God come with power.” – Report of
The Edinburgh Missionary Conference

“When the prayer-life of the people of God comes to be the dominant
feature of Christian experience, the power of God will sweep the earth
with the victories of grace.” – Howard Agnew Johnston

“Ask , and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock,
and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and he
who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” (Matt
7:7-9)

Concerning revival I suggest that there are only true awakenings not revivals. The scriptures speak more of coming “awake” than they speak of “revivals”. Just do a word study on the word “awake” verses “revival” to see in context what is truly there on the subject. In fact it has been many teachings and reports [books] on revivals in the past 200 years that increased the leaven of mixture[OC with NC] in my life and many others caught up in the quest for experiencing one. I experienced what Jon Zens coined “spiritual shock” after my “Grace Awakening [G.A.]” in 2009 which took place 39 years after my conversion to Christ in 1970. I would NEVER term my shocking revelation on grace and righteousness a “personal revival”. My life was transformed. I am now dedicated to transformation through grace. After my G.A. I returned to some of these present day ministers and some long ago “revivalists” so termed who specialize on teachings of “revival” and some claiming to be in one now. What was shocking to find the intense mixture they promote and soon found they did not have a fullness of revelation of the Cross.

I guess it has become a popular thing to seek after and talk of revival but I found revival to be a pipe dream for 40 years. There are movements coming from the Holy Spirit and there are intial good movements that get high-jacked by the flesh and devil. But personal awakenings on grace can never be stopped except by the law. Awakenings are as exciting as salvations! Yes Father more transformations!!!!!!!!!!! These last for eternity! Awakenings are not pipe dreams ever!!!!!!!! Mixture KILLS!

Thanks for your helpful comment Marc.

I essentially agree. I tend to speak of revival in the sense of awakening without intending to draw lines that distinguish between awakening, revival, refreshment, etc.

    Living in grace,
    Shane.
