To a cowlad named Chad
Who had no time for heresy bad
For from error and the latest fad
Protection comes from our man Chad
With rigor he did tame
the deranged and the mad
And his victims he did bind
with logic sublime
‘Though enemies unkind
said he’d Vossed his mind
Yet ’twas truth he told
Defending the Gospel of old
To Galatianists brash
and the Libertines rash
Their arguments he smashed
And clear insights flashed
For the passage you did hew
So the truth could shine through
Mate, I salute and thank you
‘Cause for your help I owe you!
May you continue to fight
For intense Gospel light
For when with hubris they prattle
We need you in battle!
Chad is the man
does all he can
cause grace is his tool
he ain’t no fool
sees the big picture
brings it on his lectures
asks the right questions
studies hard to find answers
sets an example
shepherd’s God’s flock
To Christ Be the Glory
Chad stands on the Rock
We make a good team me and you Joey!
Nicely said bro!
Shane.
You brothers kill me!
Chad is the man
put his life in a can
left all his brothers
to beat off the others
LOL Moe.
“left all his brothers to beat off the others”
That is hillarious. At least he tells you. I just quietly nick off!
Let’s allow the guy a break from “that murky turdy mud . . . we’re all dug out of” and pray that he’ll be back to rejoin the floaters in good time.
Speaking of which . . . must be about time I rolled back in.
Love that Sound of Grace discussion group – have grown so much from it and love and appreciate the key contributors very much. But there sure is some scary stuff floating around in there from time to time. Can understand someone stepping out for some fresh air. Hopefully, not forever in this case.
Is this your way of encouraging someone, Shane? Great idea! You and Joe both have a real gift.
Chad, sometimes my “favorite” verse stays stuck in Luke 6:27-28. Sometimes “enemies” are anyone who is not acting in love towards us. Don’t know if that’s what this is about, but that’s my encouragement for you, if so.
You guys are all blessed to have great bonds of brotherhood in the Lord
Jen,
Yep – just wanted to shoot Chad a word of encouragement as he has issued and taken more than his fair share of bullets over the years. (And thankfully I’ve generally been “Bingo!’d” more often than I’ve stood in Chad’s cross hairs.)
I appreciate Chad and all the key contributors as I know we all do with each other. Although I know that at times in the heat of discussion it may not come across so much.
I’ve also come realise that my blog is more an outlet and a dumping station for whatever is spinning around in my sick head. Bad poetry and all!
Berkley, We sure do – it is an honor.
Grace,
Shane.
I’d like to meet that guy sometime. I’ll bet he’s a bit wary of stairz with you guys around.
Stairz and cowpies after every new sunset.
Love ya Chad!!
BTW, next time I’m pointing out that there are NO SUNSETS in the Promised land of rest.
Yeah, and safe to say that those Stairz have been removed.
Oh to that sunsetless and stairzless eternal day! Where cowboys on my property do not stray.
Just use a counter sign-off. . . .
Looking to eternal rest where not everyday has a new sunset-
Farmer Shane.
You’ve never taken a step of faith until you’ve taken them on a set of stairz.
